Where did the idea come from ? Who are the project holders ?
The idea came from the desire to do a handcrafted object that raises awareness on paper waste and
promoted upcycling. I wanted to create an object that can be declined in different facetts and be
exported, to promote the short-circuit by reusing (and reducing) its own waste through creation of
unique objects.
What do they do ? What’s the project about ?
Le BIS is a creative object which highlights the gesture of recycling. Le BIS is a bag made of recycled
newspapers, a promotional tool and a communication medium. Coming in three versions, the
cheapest one is the SOS bag, with no handles. The second version is a shopping bag, with reinforced
handles for carrying heavy products. The third one is a fashionable product, designed for trendsetters
or people that want to express their personality.
Why did they create it ? What kind of impact (social, artistic, innovative,) does the project have?
Le BIS uses and enhances a raw material present on the territory, its manufacture highlights local
know-how, which can radiate widely. BIS is a reproducible object but its mass production has not yet
been valued. This is the ambition of this project, to make common and essential a recycled object
made locally.
How does the SMATH Project help them? What are the next steps?
The SMATH support allows me to clarify my needs, the exchanges enrich my thinking and my
progress. It allows me to go faster and be more efficient.
